What is the biggest mistake you have ever made?
Let me answer this question after this beautiful Zen story.
There
was a farmer whose only horse ran away. That evening the neighbors
gathered to to sympathize with him. "Your farm will suffer, and you
cannot plow," they said. "Surely this is a terrible thing to have
happened to you."
He said, "Maybe yes, maybe no."
The
next day the horse returned but brought with it six wild horses, and
the neighbors came to congratulate him and exclaim at his good fortune.
"You are richer than you were before!" they said. "Surely this has
turned out to be a good thing for you, after all."
He said, "Maybe yes, maybe no."
And
then, the following day, his son tried to ride one of the wild horses.
He was thrown and broke his leg, and he couldn't work on the farm. Again
the neighbors came to offer their sympathy for the incident. "There is
more work than only you can handle, and you may be driven poor," they
said. "Surely this is a terrible misfortune."
The old farmer said, "Maybe yes, maybe no."
The
day after that, conscription officers came to the village to seize
young men for the army, but because of his broken leg the farmer's son
was rejected. When the neighbors came again, they said, "How fortunate!
Things have worked out after all. Most young men never return alive from
the war. Surely this is the best of fortunes for you!"
And the old man said, "Maybe yes, maybe no."
This Zen story is one of my favourite stories to understand life and its various shades.
Who knows what is stored in future. I can blame myself for several reasons
1. Why did I join IIT, if I was to become a civil servant?
2. Why did I become a civil servant, if I wanted to become an author?
However, I never blame myself for anything because I believe that everything is connected with everything else in life.
What I am today is the sum total of all my past.
Life is meant for living and not for calculating your profit and loss.
If you lived your life the way, you wish; you are the winner irrespective of what is perceived to be a mistake by others.
How can I be happy?
There was an old wise cat and a small
kitten in an alleyway. The old cat saw the kitten chasing its tail and
asked, “Why are you chasing your tail?”
To it the kitten
replied, “I’ve been attending cat philosophy school and I have learned
that the most important thing for a cat is happiness, and that happiness
is located in my tail. Therefore, I am chasing it: and when I catch it,
I shall have happiness forever.”
Laughing, the wise old cat
replied, “My son, I wasn’t lucky enough to go to cat philosophy school,
but as I’ve gone through life, I too have realized that the most
important thing for a cat is happiness, and indeed that it is located in
my tail. The difference I’ve found though is that whenever I chase
after it, it keeps running away from me, but when I go about my business
and live my life, it just seems to follow after me wherever I go.”
Wayne Dyer, Your Erroneous Zones, 1976
What are the five most important things for a man to learn in life?
A) QUIT YOUR JOB
You can't get rich at a job. You have to get rich by either starting a business or having multiple streams of income.
Don't quit your job tomorrow. Be a man. Be responsible. Just do it over time but every day move towards this goal.
Why do you need to get rich? Is this particular to a man?
Not
really. Woman should do this also. But historically, men in our society
have been the bread earners and you will feel better about yourself if
you can do it.
So do it.
B) DON’T LET SOMEONE ELSE VALIDATE YOU
If you want to make a TV show, make a video. If you want to write a book, write it and self-publish.
If
you want to be an investment banker, find one company that wants to get
sold and another company that wants to buy it and put yourself in the
middle. You don't need to be "chosen" by Goldman Sachs.
If you want an education, find a way to learn online. You don't need to get a degree in X to be X (unless legally).
C) HEALTH.
Men die earlier than women.
There's really only three keys to better health. I'll add a fourth.
Sleep well. Eat well. Low stress. And to help all of the above go faster, exercise.
Fill
in the blanks how you want to get the above done. It doesn't matter. As
long as you are aware of how important the above four towards living to
be 100 with high quality of life then you will do it.
D) DON’T OUTSOURCE YOUR SELF ESTEEM
Sometimes I've met a woman and I've basically given her all of my self-esteem to take care of.
Then she gets tired of me, bored of me, and dumps me, and now she's taken my self-esteem away until i find it again.
It's hard enough for any one person to manage their own self-esteem, let alone yours.
Take care of your own self-esteem.
E) CREATIVITY
When you are creative, you become competent. Every day try to do one creative thing a day that makes you feel good.
This is one way to make yourself your priority and never anyone else.
Does this seem selfish? It totally is.
But 1% a day improvement in creativity compounds you into a giant among people.
You will feel good, you will have better relationships with people, you will be able to do what you want.
Oh, there’s one more and it’s basically obvious. Always be honest. See? Obvious.
Do I do these things? I can tell you that when I haven't my life has fallen apart. And when I have, I can do whatever I want.
What can I do to become smarter?
You should follow/know these tips to 'appear' smart :

heart be.
- Give and take doesn't work. Give always, doesn't too.
- Looks matter. Words matter. But, personality matters more.
- Money buys everything, except eternal happiness and life.

- Mould into a person everyone can trust.
- Speaking truth always is foolish. White lies are acceptable.
- People take advantage of you if you are polite always.
- Know who to help, and who not to.
- There is a limit to generosity, and kindness.
- Being an adult doesn't mean you can't be a child anymore.
- Children aren't innocent; adults aren't at fault every time.
- Beware of your own expectations.
- You live once is wrong. You live every day.
- Realize, nobody can be smart always...
Skipping
some of these points, is also smartness. But, you are real smart if you
can fully decipher the deeper meaning in every point.
What should one not do in life?
Do not waste time. Otherwise you are surely gonna regret it.
People are always going to talk about you. Never let that affect you.
Never cheat in a relationship. I repeat NEVER. Guilt is going to kill you. If you are not happy , just leave.
Never disrespect your parents.
Never take your life for granted. You are lucky that you have been given this chance. Don’t just kill yourself.
Never give an advice if you can not follow it yourself. That’s why I just wrote these points.
Easier said than done. Right ?
Most of us will be forgotten within two generations.
I don't know if this will answer your question, but I have decided to mention it anyway.

which thousands of people work just to make bottles.
This
means that lakhs of people have been working from thousands of years to
make this bottle. May be we don't acknowledge, but their work is still
here long after they are gone. This is just a bottle. Look around you,
you are standing in the museum of human work history!
May be you will become insignificant after

Does that make you feel better? :)
What was something that someone did that made you think they were really smart?
First
day at my office..typical Indian IT company. There were some other
people along with me who were joining on the same day.We were scheduled
for an induction program where we were asked to do a lot of activities
to understand the principles and ethics of the company.
One
such activity was "bursting the balloon" in which everyone was given an
deflated balloon. The objective of the activity was to see who could
protect their balloon until the end of a random audio clipping. As soon
as the activity started everyone started filling their balloons with
air.Once that was done, its time to go hunting.Everyone started running
trying to burst the other balloons while protecting their own.
When
the audio clipping ended, the host asked the people who protected their
balloon, to come on to the podium. Out of all of us one guy went onto
the stage empty handed. Everyone started laughing thinking he dint
understand what the game was about.
The
host started narrating the rules of the game to make him understand,
when the guy cuts him in the middle and says,"Oh! I forgot. Here's my
balloon."Takes a very small balloon from his pocket and says, "No one
said anything regarding the size of the balloon.Figures I win!". Walks
out of the room.
Silence follows.

What are the things that heartbreaks have taught you?
If
a person tells you he/she loves you, and if you know you love him/her
too, don’t tell him/her how much you love him/her all at one go. If you
are in too much love and if you tell him/her, he/she will know. Then the
person will take you for granted. Love the person in your heart, but
don’t tell him/her everything. Show him/her how much, when the situation
arises. Hold on until then. Do not be in a hurry. If you show him/her
you will do anything to get old with him/her, it is human tendency that,
the person will tend to move on thinking he/she deserves better. How
much ever you do further, it will loose it’s importance. Save yourself. I
am not asking you to be manipulative. I am asking you to not be too
desperate, thinking you are expressing a lot of love. I can’t write

True story !!!
In one of the reputed medical colleges of India, it was the day of final year university exams.
A student was reading from books spread all around him. Today was the day for which he had worked hard since whole year. He decided to skip the meal so that he could take a glance over maximum topics.
While he was searching for a taxi to take him to the university, he saw an old lady walking slowly. Being an MBBS student he came to know that the lady must be suffering from a severe disease.
He had the option to ignore and reach the university on time. But he decided to take the lady to the hospital where she was diagnosed with acute bronchial asthma. He read the prescription. He purchased the medicines that were bronchodilators and handed them to the lady.
Now he proceeded for exams. He was little nervous as he had no time to revise. Question papers were distributed and he was amazed to see the first question-
"How will you manage acute bronchial asthma ?"
Maybe this was the best that happened to the student as a result of being nice. Maybe this were the blessings of the poor old lady. May be this was the result of giving priority to humanity even 1 hour before career determining exams. May be this is a live example of teaching humanity by god.
P.S.- this is the incident of BJ medical college of Gujarat.

What is the ultimate truth of life?
One night, just before the shopkeeper was about to close the shop, a dog came into the shop.
There
was a bag in its mouth. The bag had a list of items to be bought and
money. The shopkeeper took the money and kept the items in the bag.
Immediately,
The dog picked up the bag of items and left. The shopkeeper was
surprised and went behind the dog to see who the owner was.
The
dog waited at the bus stop. After sometime, a bus came and the dog got
into the bus. As soon as the conductor came, it moved forward to show
his neck belt which had money and the address as well. The conductor
took the money and put the ticket in his neck belt again.
When
it reached the destination, the dog went to the front and wagged his
tail indicating that he wanted to get down. The moment the bus stopped,
it got down. The shopkeeper was still following it.
The dog knocked on the door of a house with its legs. Its owner came from inside and beat it with a stick.
The
shocked shopkeeper asked him "why are you beating the dog?", to which
the owner replied, "he disturbed my sleep. It could have taken the keys
with it."
This is the ultimate truth of
life. There is no end to the expectations people have from you. The
moment you go wrong, they start pointing at our mistakes. All the good
done in the past is forgotten. Any small mistake committed then gets
magnified. This is the nature of this material world.
